HOW TO SPEND NEW YEARS EVE!

December 31st Wednesday 2008

Hello everyone. I know that you are angry about me not writing on my blog but that is about to change! I am going to type everyday (unless I am dead from school) and then I’ll post it on my blog when I get a hold of the Internet. So now I am back in Rosheim. This cute little village is a great place for basically everyone to live. Unless you’re a Tec-no freak who needs to have their video games (says the girl who is drying to get her X-BOX game back!), cause neither me nor Jacinta, can find an arcade place. The village looks as if it was built in the 18th century. Sue lets me go for a walk every now and then. To my much dislike I am only aloud out for half and hour, when I am used to being out for 2 hours. At this time of the year the streets are practically disserted (so I don’t see why I am only aloud out for 30 minutes). When I go out I see about 5 people and they are all people that watch goats walk past them as they huff and puff in the attempt to walk 3 meters. Or should I say deer! Near my school there is usually a small heard of deer bounding through the trees. There is a wonderful little sweet shop about five minutes walk from out house. My favourite thing to buy there is a chocolate éclair. They cost 1.20 euros (about 2.40 dollars Australian). It’s like a soft bun with a delicious choco paste inside that, if you’re not careful, will burst out the other end of the bun. I love them but I haven’t had one in a week (must have one when I go and post my post cards and letters). So for the last 4 days I have been in GERMANY! Badin Badin to be correct. We went to a bath house where we spent 4 hours swimming in circles. The pools where heated and I REALLY liked the super hot one. Right next to it there was a freezing one. According to the French (which was passed on to me by Jacinta) it is good for your body to go into the cold water (which is MURDER!), staying in there for a little while and then going back into the hot one. Man does it send shivers up your spine. Then it feels as if a thousand little needles are being pushed gently into your skin. When I did it the first time I nearly screamed. Bubbles go off every now and then in the pool. When I was submerged with my eyes closed I curled into a ball and heard my voice inside my head. Then suddenly there was a humming sound and then I was barraged by bubbles. I laughed my head off and the French, German and Americans all stared at me. Jumping out of the pool I ran to the giant one that was only a few meters away. There where three pools. One inside the other (like a little one surrounded by a bigger one and then that one surrounded by an even bigger one) and each one was warmer than the other. So when I hoped into the smallest one I was taken aback by the coldness (it wasn’t as cold as the freezing one) and then I relaxed. After a few minutes I moved to the larger one. Once again I was attacked by bubbles and laughed underwater (creating even more bubbles). Finally I moved to the biggest of the three. This pool was big enough to fit about 50 people in it and still have enough room for children to splash around. There was also a fountain which splashed water onto those who rested underneath it. Sue says that it’s like a back massage, I think it’s more like getting PUNCHED in the back, so I didn’t stay under it for very long. After bring kicked her and there by old people and small children I decided that I wanted to go to the OUTSIDE pool. I am guessing that you are wondering how they can have an outside pool when it is 3 digrees? Well this is how it works. The pool is heated and lots of steam comes from the hot water as it reacts to the cool air. That’s about it. There is also a whirl pool (that doesn’t do very much) and on the 2nd day I spent 45 minutes going around and around and around. The strange thing was that I kept on thinking about thinking. Weird huh? So we spent about 12 hours in the water, except for about 3 hours that we spent eating (1 hours for the three days that we went). Guess what the best thing was? They had an aroma therapy room! It is really cool, actually it’s really hot. When I first walked in I coughed, which was because of all the fog that was really smelly (in a good way). It was a little odd because they had these little mats and I didn’t understand what they where for. Faunally enough Sue was in there too. Which I really didn’t feel comfortable (for my own reasons) and she informed me why there where mats. “They’re there so when you sit down on the seats, you aren’t sitting in other peoples sweat!” I pocked out my tongue and thought GROSS! The funny this was that I only used a mat once. In the room you can hardly see anything that isn’t 4 cm in front of you (did you know I always thought in front was one word?) and I nearly bumped into a few people. After standing in the room for over 10 minutes I went out. I was COVERED in sweat. It felt good. I soaked in another pool and then had 2 ice creams and some chips with Sue and Jacinta. Then we went home (well to the hotel/apartment) and then me and Jacinta went for a walk. We went into a chocolate shop and bought some. I thought they tasted gross and I let Jacinta eat them. Same this happened for the other days and then just this morning we woke up to a non-sunny day. Oh was it cold. We went on a bus and then waited at a train station. Right now I am reading a book called EVIL GENIUS. THANK YOU SO MUCH MUM I LOVE IT!!! The Author of the book is Catherine Jinx and in her honour I am using her name in my story (doesn’t sound like much but I hope she likes it). We walked up to the train and listened to out music, well me and Jacinta did and Sue looked out the window (should be something that I do), and spent 20 minutes tapping our feet to the different beats. The horrible this was that we had to wait in the freezing cold for 50 minutes. I read my book and waited for my toes to fall off (I was seriously worried about my toes getting frost bite, silly right?) then the train came. 20 more minutes later we where in the city of Strasbourg. We had bought a few things to eat and mine was something like a little pizza (like the ones we would buy when we got out hair cut at Din Vincis mum). I really liked it even though it had capsaicin on it. We where sad when Sue said that we couldn’t have hot chocolates. Sue was angry at me because I wouldn’t take her photo. Now I know that sounds mean but I had two good reasons. #1. Was because I didn’t even know how to use her camera. #2 was because I was wearing gloves and my fingers would have frozen to the button if I took them off. She’s been chucking a hissy-fit for over 4 hours and is treating me and Jacinta like we had slapped her and called her a whore. Funny, when I chucked a little tantrum (for about 10 minutes) and didn’t look her in the face when she was waiting for me to, she went berserk! Yelling at me. To tell the truth I felt like yelling back at her. But I held my tongue. I really don’t want to make her any more angry then she already is. So now we are home and listening to N.C.I.S. and fireworks far away from our house. I saw a trio of young RUGGED teenaged boys, walking down our street. They threw a fire cracker into the disintegrated building next in front of ours. I was worried that the trees inside the area would catch fire. But they didn’t so I am happy. The boys are gone but I can still hear a few of little bangs from far away. I was REALLY happy when I came home cause the lady who owns this house came over with Mum’s package! Thanks MUM! I’ll read the book after I have finished EVIL GENIUS. I am looking forward to eating the Tim Tams and I read you letter. I love the little toys that you sent me. So I now have 4 toys with me and their names are: PONICO, POCINCO, TEA and FOO FOO! Foo Foo was a rabbit beanie baby that my Mum gave to me when I was 2. So when the sun comes up tomorrow, I will have had Foo Foo for 13 years! WOW! And that means that my 2 cats will be 13 too. So I am a book worm and have read quite a few books in the last year. I will list them underneath this entry. Now it is getting pretty late so I better go to bed. School is in a few more days and I am NOT looking forward to that! So good night everyone. Hopefully this will reach my blog by tomorrow, if we get to McDonalds tomorrow, (McDonalds is one of the few places we know where there is free wireless)!. Good NIGHT again!
